This is the upgrade the mild Turbo Buick has been waiting for! The all new TA-5357 is the new benchmark entry level turbocharger, replacing the Legacy TA-49. The TA-5357 has been engineered to provide faster response and more potential power than the TA-49, providing a huge performance gain for customers with stock stall speed torque converters, stock camshafts and un-ported heads.
The TA-5357 utilizes our latest 53mm inducer/81mm Extended Tip exducer billet compressor wheel matched up to our 57mm 9 bladed turbine wheel. This upgraded rotor group packs over 45#/min of airflow all while weighing only 3 grams more than the OE rotor group. The thrust bearing is updated to our 360° severe duty thrust, the compressor seal is converted from a carbon face seal to our low drag dynamic seal and all of this is supported in a brand new bearing housing featuring all USA made bearings and seals. Fully machined, assembled and balanced in house to our exacting specification.
While this turbo can be used on a 100% stock car, it is recommended that the fuel system be upgraded to at least 36#/HR injectors, chip and high output fuel pump for guaranteed safe operation. Upgrade to a 3" downpipe, free flowing exhaust and a nice high flow air filter for a combo that will put a solid smile on your face for years to come!
Want to push the max out of this unit? It still will grow into a front mount intercooler, Alky kit, 208/212 cam, ported heads and intake, along with a super efficient 2800 converter and this turbo will deliver upwards of 450 flywheel hp.
All of our TA-5357's are built on a core exchange basis, your core must be a stock viable core with no broken bolts, cracks or major damage. The condition of the bearings/wheels does not matter as we replace all of these items with new parts.
